Understanding MIDI

MIDI can control a lot of things in DJ'ing or Audio Production

MIDI, short for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, is a technical standard that allows electronic musical instruments, computers, and other devices to communicate, control, and synchronize with each other. It enables the transfer of digital data representing parameters such as notes, pitch, velocity, and tempo among compatible devices, facilitating the creation, production, and live performance of electronic music. MIDI does not transmit audio signals; instead, it sends event messages about musical notation, pitch, and intensity, allowing diverse equipment to work together and expand musical possibilities. Basically, MIDI is a signal protocol.
